Studio Tour: The Furry Peach Studio in Sydney

Nestled in the inner west of Sydney, the Furry Peach studio (which is more like a she shed) is where many dog pats are given & colourful cushions are sewn.

Felicia, the creative mind behind Furry Peach began crafting fun pet friendly designs as a hobby & out of love for her own pooches – Poppy & Peaches, but after many compliments & requests from family & friends Felicia began her small business journey. In her daily line of work as a surgical veterinary nurse the passion for animals was always there but it lacked the expressive creative side Felicia desired.

In February 2016 Furry Peach launched online but getting the brand selling ready was a long process, one that all started in this ‘she shed’.

“Creating a space that was both inspiring & functional was very important, & getting the finer details right can be tedious. I needed an area where I could cut, sew, overlock & a fair bit of storage for all my fabrics & cushion inserts.

A lot of research, Pinterest scrolling & gathering a mixture of old & new furniture allowed the Furry Peach studio to truly come to life. It definitely helped that my father is a carpenter by trade so for all the pieces of furniture I needed but couldn’t find he would create for me. He even put wheels on the bottom of my cutting table to make it easier to move around- Thanks Dad!

It was a lengthy process but a very exciting one, from picking the right paint colour (which is actually called ‘Palest Peach’; very fitting I thought) to picking out an ironing board small enough to fit the space, it all mattered and has paid off because I truly love working in my studio & feel inspired being there.”
